“Earth to UFOs”, “Earth to UFOs”, Please respond

UFOs, the Unidentified Flying Objects in our skies are often reported by terrestrials (us) as appearing like “saucers”. Their speeds silently break the sound barrier, and their acrobatics defy the laws of physics. Accurate descriptions of pilots and engineers elude “ufologists” because of their heavenly distance and velocity. Too bad what could presumably be their informative earthen corpses are rapidly and surreptitiously removed by government agencies, ostensibly to avoid “global panic”.

Thus, “ufologists” are mostly left to guesswork as they unceasingly seek to comprehend the life forms soaring “...over the rainbow”.

These curious (and safe) UFO sitings, date back to the 1800s, but attention on earth is stymied by earthbound officials. Sadly or sensibly (you judge), these elusive extra-terrestrials don’t have much reciprocity to their calls. Which in humans would tend to abandoning efforts to communicate with Earthen inhabitants, including determined government scientists. We can only hope they don’t feel rebuffed by our “blocked calls”.

Be advised, what we hear (or not) from Washington about UFOs is about as likely to be true

as are federal government assertions stating our economy is “great”, and that Americans “...never had it so good”. Outing those statements (lies) today could be federally declared blasphemy (maybe “treason”?), so be careful what you say.

Bless those investigative reporters (and comedians) for uncovering reality, until they are fired

or their media platforms decapitated by billionaires making deferential Faustian deals with the Devil, aka the 47^th US President. Soon, however, it may mean little to be a billionaire - as alpha predators start to become trillionaires. They would not need to invade vulnerable countries or blow up their boats; they could buy them.

I fear I have wandered from the ‘plot’ of this essay. Sorry. Please continue.

Consciousness is the astounding (yet hardly unique) capability to be aware, especially of oneself. Noetics (www.noetics.org) is the science of consciousness. Few, including myself - even knowing or having extra-corporal experiences – were unaware of the term noetics, until it became essential to the plot of Dan Brown’s latest best-seller, The Secret Of Secrets (2026).

I will offer one fundamental concept (of a great many) from the field of noetics: For eons, consciousness was believed to exist within our brains, housed as they are in a bony vault called the cranium. This has been termed “focal consciousness”. Not a lot of space and not much help understanding intuition, inspiration, intention, extra-sensory perception, lucid dreams, and much more.

But now many consider consciousness to also exist outside our brains, residing in a vast collection of je ne sais quoi that contains a universal past, present, and (yes) future.

Figuratively, it is as if a “vapor” of all time and space exists outside our brains, called the non-focal consciousness, in which our minds ‘bathe’.

That abundant non-focal consciousness can enter our focal consciousness: imagine a brain that is permeable (and can be trained to be more so) to our non-focal consciousness, with its perimeters of consciousness, of our awareness, that are endless and timeless, even if only transiently so.

Many of you have had such experiences. You may be puzzled by these moments of awareness, which defy everyday explanation. Coincidence is a good example. But puzzled is good. Because simply dismissing these moments, and your attributes that they reveal, will foreclose to you worlds of feelings, ideas, intention, intuition, creativity, and connectiveness.

I suspect those are the attributes can assist us in discovering aliens and understanding them (or stirring interest them in finding us). By going beyond “local or focal”, to rise “over the rainbow”, where awe and wonder (and “aliens”) find their home, is how we might begin to find and communicate with them.

What I am writing here about consciousness is not new. It is known to many. But its amazing scope, illumination, and utility has seen little adoption in our world, so far.

Perhaps, then, the “mystery” of aliens remains because of the limits of our cognitive myopia,

our focal consciousness. They “see” us, but we not them. We have yet to better allow non-focal consciousness to take us beyond the limits of everyday time and place. To be able to experience and “visit” with the so-far largely unknown extra-territorials. To go beyond our quotidian existence and be revealed the glory in which we reside.
